The Redwood Women in Technology: Software Developer

Women in Technology: Software Developer Program is a tuition-free employment training program that provides women, trans, non-binary, and Two-Spirit peoples who have been affected by gender-based violence with:

  • Career training and certification
  • Academic learning materials and resources
  • Employment supports and resources
  • Trauma-informed wraparound supports

 

A software developer is a professional who designs, creates, tests, and maintains computer programs and applications. They use their programming skills to write code that tells computers what to do, enabling the creation of software that can solve problems, perform tasks, or provide entertainment. In today’s evolving tech landscape, developers are increasingly incorporating AI into their work, using it as a tool to build applications more efficiently and to enhance their problem-solving capabilities.

  • Junior Web Developer

  • Junior Frontend Developer

  • Junior Backend Developer

  • Junior Full-Stack Developer

  • Junior Application Developer

  • Entry-Level Mobile App Developer

  • QA / Junior Software Tester

  • DevOps / Development Support Analyst

  • Junior Systems / Business Analyst + So much more!

 

Eligibility for program:

  • Have a level 6 or equivalent in English​
  • High school level math
  • Be a resident and able to work in Ontario ​
  • Identify as female, gender non-binary, trans, or Two-Spirit survivor of gender based violence​
  • Must attend in-person classes in Toronto, and online
  • Enthusiastic and motivated to pursue a career as a software developer
  • Able to fully commit to training and meet course attendance requirements​
  • Motivated to commit to a diverse and fulfilling coursework
