Announcing a New Violence Prevention Initiative!
The Redwood has long been committed to working on initiatives aimed at preventing violence against women. We are pleased to announce that we will be participating in a pilot project funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada that brings together health care, social services, police and other vital community organizations to share information and coordinate support for survivors facing the highest risk of harm, including femicide.
The project is led by WomanACT and includes partners Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter (a sister shelter in Toronto), Sagesse (an anti-violence organization in Calgary) and the City of Toronto.
You can learn more about the project, Community Wellness – Canadian Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) Pilot, here.
