Wonder how best to support someone experiencing abuse?

Accelerated Safety Assessment & Risk Management (A-SARM)

Our Accelerated Safety Assessment and Risk Management (A-SARM) is here to guide you. A-SARM is designed to help community members who may encounter someone experiencing abuse and offers a time-sensitive way to identify abuse being experienced, assess safety risks, and take action to support someone experiencing abuse.

We are facilitating training for community members across Ontario. Training is open to anyone who may encounter people experiencing abuse. If you are a dentist, hairstylist, educator, physiotherapist, financial advisor, or work in hospitality, you may already be in a position to notice when something seems off. A-SARM gives you tools to offer support safely and appropriately.

From A-SARM training you will:

  • Learn how to recognize warning signs of abuse and red flags
  • Gain practical skills to help someone stay safe
  • Learn how to use key A-SARM tools to identify, screen and assess risks
  • Build confidence in having difficult but important conversations
  • Know how to connect survivors with the right resources

…and so much more

Youth - Safety Assessment & Risk Management (Y-SARM)

Young people face unique risks and challenges — both online and in person — when it comes to gender-based violence.

The Youth Safety Assessment and Risk Management (Y-SARM) tool is designed to support community members who work with or care for young people. This brief screening tool helps users identify, assess, respond to, and support young women, girls and gender-diverse people under 25 who may be experiencing gender-based violence.
